On August 5, 2017, many Asian Americans and their families gathered outside NCSL 2017 Legislative Summit in Boston, opposing Asian American Disaggregation Bill H.3361 introduced by Democratic State Representative Tackey Chan of Quincy. Cliff Li, the executive director of National Committee of Asian American Republicans (Asian.GOP) joined the protests and coordinated the dialogue the protesters between the protesters and John Yang, the president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), who who promotes the data disaggregation.
